Eventually you are thrown into the Town of “Oasis” which is under attack of Pirates. The story recounts of how several Pirates searched far and wide for this treasure, but none ever succeeded. This DLC takes place on a new map as the Vault Hunters go out in search of Captain Blade’s Treasure of the Lost Sands- a legendary bounty which was hidden by a magical compass and guarded by a great beast. …with that being said, let me welcome you to just one of the many side-campaigns that Borderlands 2 has to offer: Captain Scarlett & her Pirate’s Booty. So any differing opinions being shared here will be pointed out as either my old view or my recent opinion. I had also completed the first Borderlands and all its DLC. The second time I played solo, I was still a Mechromancer (level 36) but had finished the main campaign and had some pretty good weapons and upgrades. I had also never played Borderlands before this. Because we jumped into the DLC without finishing the main campaign, we were really low-leveled and had to work a little harder to complete missions and defeat enemies. The first time I played through the DLC, I made a Mechromancer and my wife was in my team playing as a Psycho (these classes are add-ons). As a shooter-looter, Borderlands is something special, Borderlands 2 far-surpassed the first game (in my opinion), and it is a series I found myself quite addicted to in recent years.īur first, a quick note about the characters… ![]() This was also back when anything FPS (first person shooter) was much too intimidating for me, and to this day, it’s still not my favorite genre…but Borderlands is something different. It was one of those games that groups of friends would play together and have the greatest conversations about, so, when you found out you were playing by yourself…it was just, less fulfilling. But, not only did I write the review after beating the DLC the first time with my wife, I just recently ran through the DLC again solo in 2020, and decided that this old review could really use some TLC.īorderlands is one of those games that I had always wanted to play, but could never get myself to do it alone. ![]() At that point in time, I had never written anything for DLC content at all, so it was a new experience altogether. Back when I first wrote this DLC review, it was an odd formula for me since I had not even beaten the main campaign of Borderlands 2 yet.
